GYV is a program designed to help introduce kids to the sport of volleyball. Players are able to practice once a week with their team and play games on Saturdays. GYV is now entering its 26th season and has trained thousands of children in Glendora and surrounding cities.
Many of our players have used this experience as a stepping-stone to play for their middle schools, high schools and beyond.
Starting in Fall 2019, we are expanding our league into different cities and will be running our program year-round.
Glendora Youth Volleyball (GYV) has been providing youth volleyball opportunities to the kids of Glendora and surrounding areas for over 25 years. GYV was created to provide low-cost volleyball opportunities to kids looking to try volleyball who may not be ready for a full club volleyball or travel volleyball experience. Similar to AYSO and Little League, GYV works with parent volunteers to coach teams.
GYV strives to provide a positive introduction to the game of volleyball to young kids; regardless of race, color, creed, religion or national origin.
We aim to teach the basic fundamental skills of the game of volleyball along with teamwork, citizenship and character on the court.
Our major goal is to create a safe, fun learning environment for all of our children so we can help them better their volleyball skills as well as their self-confidence and leadership skills.
New in Fall 2019, GYV will be providing coaching clinics to help parent volunteers structure their practices and game lineups. Mt. SAC Volleyball Coach Ali Carey-Oliver will conduct coaching clinics.
GYV is currently running fall volleyball programs in Glendora, Upland, La Verne, Monrovia and Covina. (Fall 2019) We will be expanding to many more local cities in January 2020.
